Yogi Yansa was born in Klungkung, Bali, in 1972. His first encounter with yoga came from a book he found in the sixth grade, and he began trying the poses on his own, with no teacher to guide or correct him.

Long before yoga became central to his life, Yansa lived with serious chronic pain and depended on daily medication to manage it. Looking for another way through it, he found his first mentor, Dada Vibhakarananda, and under his guidance both his health and his understanding of yoga changed completely.

He was later initiated into the Ananda Marga community and completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training under Master Manohara and Dada Vibhakarananda. That journey through pain and recovery still shapes how he teaches, he pays as much attention to a student's state of mind as to their posture.

He teaches Asana and Meditation at Samadhi Yoga Ashram's campus in Ubud, and his way of working puts steadiness ahead of intensity, and attention ahead of performance.

That calm presence is really what defines his teaching. He doesn't teach with urgency or push students hard. Instead, his classes lead students toward a settled, quiet state, mostly through the steady, calm way he carries himself while teaching. It's less about pushing students into stillness through instruction, and more about the calm feeling he naturally brings into the room.

His classes stay close to classical Hatha foundations, with asana and meditation taught as one practice rather than two separate blocks on a timetable. Students who arrive expecting something fast and physically demanding usually find something quieter instead, and more useful for building a habit they can keep.

If you practice with him, expect a class that values calm over intensity, and presence over performance. His 8+ years of teaching have gone into refining this grounded style, rather than moving toward flashier or more physically demanding forms. This makes his classes a good match for students wanting to slow down, whether they're dealing with a busy mind or simply want a practice that doesn't ask them to push.
